Atop the Summit

Dear Me,

You are sitting at the summit at the Chilkoot at 10 am – first ones here this morning. Major fog the whole way up the Golden Stairs from the scales.

No wildlife yet, lots of flowers and amazing huckleberries and blueberries – seriously the size of farmed blueberries.

Would be awesome to run this trail sometime – flat and then some major up.

Nika and I have been getting on great – an excellent entrance to spend time together celebrating “30.” An excellent b-day present. I hope we can keep doing adventures to celebrate milestones! May my body be able to do this for many years to come!!!

Lifting Spirits

Hey you,

Remember that nothing lifts spirits like scrambling in the sunshine and walking and talking with a trusted friend.

– Me

I Feel…

I feel strong, I feel alive, I feel accomplished.

I feel loved, I feel like I just kicked 40s ass.

Ellie, Ezra and Andrew, I stay strong and alive so I’m the best I can be for you.

Hey! 🙂

FĂ©licitation pour se que tu as accomplies ces dernières journĂ©es! Il est important de croire en soi et de se surpasser. J’espère que tu prendras davantage de temps pour toi. Super trip entre filles! Quel aventure 🙂

Herci á ma soeur pour le soutien!

The Coolest

August 4, 2016

Dear Elise,

It is very cold. This is probably (so far) the coolest thing you’ve done, so when you receive this, you should have done something cooler.

Do this again.

I Lived!

July 9, 2016

I owned every second that this world could give. I saw so many places, the things that I did. Yeah, with every broken bone, I swear I LIVED.

Bring Extra

Chilkoot Trail July/16

Remember to bring more than one shirt when hiking.

Bucket List

Bucket List: Climb the Golden Stairs

It was a beautiful sunny day with a light breeze. We could not have asked for better!

Hurray for friends who shared this experience. 🙂

Climbing the Golden Stairs…

Many different choices and different routes, but it will eventually reach the same destination.

Training Wheels Off

Dear Matthew…Well Future Matthew,

Hopefully the hike brings clarity to what I want from life whether that’s adventure, or a family, or more schooling. Regardless, I hope to spend this next year as happy as possible figuring out who I am. Time to take the training wheels off!

Good luck!
